Hmph. Memery!

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your livejournal along with your seven songs, then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.

After going through 8 years of Charles R. Snyder and John Russell choirs, it's a lot harder to NOT have music in your head, so this took a little bit to figure out...

1. Rise - GITS: SAC 2nd gig OST
2. O Come O Come Emmanuel - Robert Shaw Chamber
3. Allon Gay Gay Bergeres - " "
4. Rock Anthem for Saving the World - Halo OST
5. The Angel Gabriel From Heav'n Came - Pick an Episcopaelian choir. Hope the average age of the Soprano section isn't Dead.
6. Christmas Time Is Here - Vince Guaraldi Trio (Charlie Brown Christmas)
7. The Dreams Of Candlelight - TSO

No, I haven't been listening to [ profile] snowspinner's Christmas CDs or anything...

Anyhow - rather than picking people (aside from [ profile] snowspinner and [ profile] dklegman, because I'm curious what's in your music minds, gentlemen), if you happened to GET a copy of Phil's mix, or just feel like it, contribute!

I think its inevitable that as we read each other's journals we create mental pictures of each other. Post this on your own journal (iffin' you want to) to find out who your friends see when they read about your life.

Two Rules:

The person must be in the movies or on TV (but doesn't have to be an actor/actress). The person can be specific to a role (e.g. Jennifer Elhe's Elizabeth Bennent) or just the person themself.

You have to post a link to a picture of said person in the comments.

These castings can be based on things in the person's personality or on physical traits you know they have.

I strongly shrug to the pictures - if you can't find one you like, don't worry about it.

In other news: The super glue holding the cracked grill handle together broke today, as I was removing it from the in-use grill. Fortunately, the lid landed on the grass and the innocent brats within were not harmed.

Please leave a one-word comment that you think best describes me.

It can only be one word. No more.

Then copy & paste this in your journal so that I may leave a word about you

Here's the deal, kids: Put your iTunes in alphabetical order by song and note the first track for each letter (I also included both the symbol AND number categories as members of the alphabetical organization system 'cos I want to). Whichever artist shows up the most is the winner, and gets a vacation in the Bahamas. Or not. Maybe an email. Actually, not even that.

Bold the ones you have actually done, and italicize those you believe you could do with reasonable confidence.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. — Robert A. Heinlein

Ok, so, I've finally been tagged for the music meme after several weeks of dodging with my ninjitsu internet jutsu.

Here's the instructions:

List five songs that you are currently digging. It doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions, the artist, and the song in your journal, then tag five other people to see what they're listening to.

Those who read [ profile] spartanfan will find I already did a version with my much smaller work collection. Here's 5 from the whole damn basket. I'm also going to avoid re-using any from the work list. :D I do try to listen to a few different things at home...

1. 100 Generations - ThouShaltNot, The White Beyond.

I don't know why, but Alexx managed to sink claws deep within my brainmeats on this song. The piano, the lyrics, the understated but beautiful music beneath his vocals. If I'm singing a song under my breath, you'd not be amiss guessing it was this one.

2. Feuer Frei! - Rammstein, Mutter.

This is pretty much the best possible song to listen to when I'm kicking ass in CoH as Eisensturm. In fact, I attribute the fact I've dinged him from 21-23 lately solely to listening to this song. If you need angry Germans, you can't go wrong here.

3. I Can't Wait Till You Try To Come Back - The White Stripes, White Blood Cells

Another semi-bluegrassy rock song. The chorus pretty much seizes and rocks you if you're even vaguely in the mood.
If I needed an angry break-up song, this'd probably be a good choice, but fortunately I've not been shopping for one.

4. Tank! - Yokko Kanno, Cowboy Bebop OST

If you don't like this song, you are dead inside. A rotting shell of a human being, wasting from within.

5. The Imperial March - John Williams & The London Symphony Orchestra, The Empire Strikes Back

With all the Star Wars fever, it's been in my head a lot, and on the playlist as a result.

Now, so glad to be out of work...

Oh, yes. Forgot the "tag" part.

Eena, Meena, Pixateena. Go.

Would you believe that I take these sometimes just to try and figure out how I'm doing?

Which Bob Are You?

I don't feel that heroic...if anything, I feel like I've been half-awake all day, except when shocked.

In the Lang, Lit, and Culture class, I had to explain the concept of why love poetry is a good thing to a bunch of students who just stared at me and swore they didn't understand what I was saying, and that they had never gotten or written poetry, and didn't know why someone would find it important. That was shocked and somewhat despair.

THESE are the people we're supposed to inspire?

Ah, well.

While on the subject of love poetry ) Okay, get out of here. :D
