Ended up going to bed really early last night. I felt terribly burned out by 10:30. I'm sorry to those who were hoping to see me, but I really appreciate the comments and such left so far.

Alison's sleeping right now, and I'm going to use part of my lunch to drive her home later, per her request.

Still don't know what I can do about all that, besides make her see a doctor and then make her see the neurologist. But how to pay for them? Minute she flashes her insurance card, Mom and Dad find out from the bill. And I can't put her on mine. Even if I did, it'd take 30 days for it to take effect. Too long.

This will not be the holiday weekend I had planned.

However, there is some good news in all this, an island in the chaos:

Happy birthday, Lisa. I love you with all my heart.

Most likely, it will actually be a couple weeks to a month before they get the bill, which would give her time to think about what she wants to tell them.

Steve might have advice about the payment angle - I have a feeling you can't go to a public hospital and falsely claim an inability to pay without it biting you in the ass later, but I could be wrong.

Agreed. Though it may be a non-issue. Mom called to see how Alison had been doing and mentioned she felt that she needed to see a doctor. So I agreed and said that I thought it would be a good idea.
