That felt surprisingly good.
Jan. 10th, 2008 09:04 pmSo, for the first time in about 5 years, I bought new drumsticks.
Didn't go down to Columbus Percussion yet, decided to see what the Colonial Music right next to the house had. I quickly learned that Colonial's stock -sucks-, but they apparently wanted to move some lumber, because sticks were 40-60% off. After some testing on a conveniently placed practice pad, I grabbed a couple pairs of Glove Tips (5A for me, 7A for those with smaller hands or if I want to get cute on cymbals). Sadly, no new throne yet, as they only had 2 in the store as part of full sets. But, that's what a trip to CP is for, I suppose.
Bounce and balance is -so- much better than the shitty pine lumps they put into the Rock Band box. I actually feel like I'm getting some decent feedback when I messed around a little.
Yes, I am taking bets on when I break them and need to go grab more, but for the moment I'm just pleased as punch to have them. :D
