Smoker Progress
Aug. 1st, 2008 12:15 amAll things considered? Not bad!
The bottom barrel has both it's support legs and the middle bracing legs bolted in and tightened down as far as I can take them. They're very sturdy, which feels great. For the pipes and dampers, I want to have it in place on the pad and the brick liner in before I lock them down, so I worked on reassembling the door and handle instead. I'll probably get the top damper and chimney into place tomorrow and wait for Dave to finish the rest. Not bad at all!
Afterward, Alex and I grabbed dinner, boggled over Scotty Bowman going to the Blackhawks, and I bought what will become our main spice grinder for rubs and sauces. Nice little kitchenaid with metal bowl and stainless blades for easy cleaning. Woohoo!
