Went to The Pub for lunch, as we discussed earlier, with Alex, Gary, and Lucy.

FIRST: The place is a PAIN in the ASS to park for.

SECOND: oh my god it is beautiful

THIRD: Pretty much the entire female waitstaff is tall, pale, lithe, and spathic. And wearing skirts.

FOURTH: For those of other persuasions, the male waitstaff is basically the same time, but subtract Spathic, add 'rugged', and a large dose of kilt.

FIFTH: Beer selection is GREAT.

SIXTH: Food was really, really good!

SEVENTH: They have a dessert called the drunken laird. It features FRIED POUND CAKE, brandied berries, and sweet custard.

EIGTH: The king's table.

NINTH: They have a QUIZ NIGHT every Monday!!!

TENTH: Did I mention they had really good beer? Which perhaps I had a bit too much of?

ELEVENTH: Prices aren't too bad if you don't go crazy with alcohol.

TWELVETH: They only serve English imported coke - ie, pure cane sugar and no HFCS!

THIRTEENTH: After my wallet recovers, we're so going back. We need to roll deep to this place and make if feel welcome upon our domain.

My pleasure! I would absolutely go.

Our table tried the Curry Chips and Crab Dip appetizers, and the Fish and Chips, Bangers and Mash, and Shepherd's Pie for entrees. All were REALLY good, but if you get the curry chips you will probably ask for more chips to help finish off the dipping sauces.

It's actually called The Pub, and it's up at Polaris. If you go to the Polaris mall, drive around to the "right" side (towards 71) and park near the Barnes and Noble or Cheesecake Factory. Then either walk through B&N to the back exit or around Cheesecake factory to the side, and you'll see The Pub.

Once you can see it, it's hard to miss.

I did some research on the tipsy laird, and it's actually a trifle. However, instead of using juice or jam as a base for the sponge cake to soak, it's fruit and a glass of sherry.

Here's a recipe for a typical tipsy laird. I think that The Pub deconstructed this and reformed it. However, The Pub's version is still GOOD!
