So, for the Luau party at the complex tonight, they're having a contest:

Anyone who brings a dessert or side dish gets entered into a drawing for free rent.

Anyone who wins their judging gets free rent, half rent for 2 months, or one month of half rent.

Here's our entry. I just got done frosting after baking it yesterday. (Yes. I baked. Scared, yet?)

The only thing I'd note on this is that if you do not frost it (we used cream cheese frosting), you'll find the cocoa and cinnamon a bit too strong. With the frosting, it blends and softens the flavors incredibly well.

Mmmmcake. Cake I probably won't get to eat. DOH.

The cake went over well, but did not win best dish.

On the other hand...

We won the following in the raffle:

2 free pizzas.
1 free carpet cleaning.

We found the following in the dumpster on the way there:

1 beautiful new headboard for my bed.

And, thanks to neeri, we were able to precisely guess the weight of the hog roasted for the meal, leading to several hundred dollars off next month's rent, and neeri may officially come over and eat our stuff whenever the hell she likes.
