Gloriously Awkward Starts to the Morning.
Oct. 15th, 2008 10:50 amAfter I got gas this morning I decided to hit the Donut Factory and attached convenience store for A) Red bull B)Breakfast.
I ran into the owner while I was there, we chatted a bit, he rang me up, and as I was getting ready to leave, he asked "So, what happened to that cute ladyfriend of yours?"
Lisa used to like walking up there to get breakfast.
"Oh....well, actually, we broke up."
The owner's face drained of color as he realized he'd just stepped in it, so I tried to let him off gently.
"It's OK. It happened a bit ago, but I'm still here."
"Wow. Yeah. I'm really sorry to hear that. You guys seemed to be a nice couple."
"Yeah, I suppose we were. Have a good one."
Today's special: Pumpkin spice donuts with bitter tear glaze.
