Ended up going down to Nationwide with
flaggerx and getting seats right off the edge of the upper bowl.
The Jackets had to work tonight - Mason was just human tonight, rather than seemingly invincible.
Despite that, and a Colorado team that did -not- want to go away, the Jackets rammed home 4 goals (with a missed shot on an empty net that would have made 5) to stand up, take control, and put themselves into playoff position.
There's a -really- good feeling about this team from the fans. We're missing one of our best checkers, two of our top six forwards, the "1B" goalie, one of our better d-men, and two of our better grind it out energy guys.
Including our CAPTAIN.
And they are finding ways to win. It isn't pretty, it isn't clean, and I damn near had a heart attack when Ryan Smyth broke out of the forecheck with 20 seconds to go in the game and drove to the net, but one way or another, they keep finding ways to win, and the more they keep winning, the more a lot of people are thinking this might just be the year we taste some playoff hockey.
