Last week, I and a few others mentioned that the CBJ had been doing some special stuff for Ryan Salmons, a former youth hockey player in Columbus who has been battling terminal cancer, including signing him to the team as a player on an amateur contract, giving him his own jersey, giving him access to the locker room to spend time with players, even announcing him as a healthy scratch. It's been really wonderful and classy. They've done some really beautiful stuff for Ryan and his family. It makes me proud to be a fan.
Apparently, they're not quite
done yet.Ryan was asked to join the team for their 2009 team photo. That's the photo that will be distributed to the media for playoff press kits, it'll go in their archives, and it'll be given out as a print to fans at the last home game.
There's really just no words for how amazing this is.
