One last blog before I go back to rest...

I have a nagging guilt that I gave up on the idea of creative writing as a career.

Every time I write a story for someone, I always sorta wonder what I could do if I took a shot at really writing professionally.

On the other hand, I get a lot of satisfaction out of both history and computers, and writing professionally is not only hard, but really fucking cutthroat.

As a self-styled 'hack' writer, I can tell you this much: Heinlein had it right, writing isn't a shameful thing, but you should do it in a dark, locked room and you should wash your hands afterwards.

Every time I hear some 'artiste' open their big, fat piehole and insult certain genres of writing (Sci-Fi is the one that gets hosed the most) I have this overwhelming urge to commit acts of extreme atrocity.
