So, partially because I was perilously close to a fight with my sister, and partially because I was all about doing the social thing, I took Alex up on an offer of coming down to his place to watch movies, play cards, and hang out with people. Was good for awhile, and then Jen, his housemate, got a phonecall.

She's being moved from Inactive reserve to Active. Probably means she'll be called up shortly. So I spent the rest of the night helping take her mind off it.

But now that I'm home....you gotta consider the fact that even though I knew people who were sent to the Gulf War, this time I know people who are being sent to fight. And that's kinda scary.

A very strange feeling indeed... Watching friends get called up for active duty for me is somehow on par with watching friends get engaged and married. Makes you realize that you aren't a kid anymore... I hope your friend is well and remains that way. *hug*

I'm with you on this one, Matt. You remember hearing me spazz at the beginning if the year when Michelle, our lab tech, got yanked to Kuwait for a six month tour. I actually almost had her interested in apping for Crescent Grizzly at one point before the character got filled. Isn't that crazy?

A very good friend of mine ships out for MP duty in Kuwait today.

Despite this, I must shrug off fear and shine with courage as he does, regardless of the peril.

*hug* Since she was told that if she's called up, she's probably gonna be sent to OCS because of her college work and LSAT score, I'm hoping that might keep her away from the fighting, at least for awhile.

We'll see....we have definently grown up. Time isn't too fair that way.
