Parents called.
I only asked them 2 days ago if they could please bring the VCR and 3 books with them. I only told them exactly where to find all 3 books and the VCR.
So of course they didn't have the time to do it.
There are times I feel tempted to treat my family as I would a particularly rude waiter. Do I give them a 10% christmas present instead of a 15%?
In the case of the upcoming fathers day, stiffing the check never looked so attractive.
Actually, given that the first words out of my Mom's mouth were "But you said you could come down Saturday if we didn't bring them, right?", I suspect that this is something of a ploy to make sure I visit, bring some form of card for said holiday, and perhaps give Dad a gift.
The potential of leaving the state in a few years and never coming back near them is occasionally overwhelmingly sweet.
