Final comment of the night, likely controversial. Inu-Yasha is not about it's title character. It is about the growth of Shesshomaru as both man and demon.
Takahashi is like what when you give her half a chance. Inu-Yasha is the genre that she loves more than anything else in the world, horror and fantasy blended.

The majority of the titles she's done are horror and suspense. Ranma, Maison Ikoku and Urusei Yatsura are exceptions in her body of work.
