Well, that's about time.

It's not that I don't like Dean. I think he did very well and he had some good ideas. But sweet god, when you get sackbeat for more than a month, it's time to admit defeat, not string it out and only invite more hits. Conserve yourself and be ready for more.

I think you're right to a degree, though I also somewhat agree with Rev. Sharpton and Sen. Edwards on the issue. They both make the point that the different candidates (more Sharpton, Dean, and Koochie probaby than Edwards) bring different constituents to the political process, and it's best to keep these people enthused and involved through the election. Plus, some Democrats are saying that, as long as others are in the party, it delays the evil games that the Republicans are likely going to play on the nominee in an effort to win.

Of course, Drudge has already tried to attack Kerry (rather unsuccessfully) on the intern issue, so that last point may not be much of one at all. Overall though, I am glad that Dean left the race. They might be building a Kerry/Dean ticket, but I'd be surprised (pleasantly so) by that. I expect Kerry/Clark, and barring that, Kerry/Edwards.

Oh, I totally agree that up until the 3rd round of Primaries, he was totally right to stay in the race. But when he was hurt enough to say it was a one state make/break, it was time to pack. And he can do a lot to keep people very energized if he keeps up his networking and support.

I suspect the GOP smears will lose a lot of credibility as things go on. They're too weak for any authority calls, I think. I don't see Kerry/Dean as possible. Too regional. Kerry/Edwards or perhaps Edwards/Dean if the polls relaly change, but likely Kerry/Edwards.

Don't underestimate a Kerry/Clark ticket... Clark is a 'military man,' and even with his 'integrity issues' he could be chosen to show that the Democrats can stand up to the Republicans on national security.

Yeah, but for military appeal I'd think Kerry's got that covered. Though I admit that Clark does give the 'Southern' factor, which seems to be important this year.

Me, I'm glad Dean fought while he still had a feasible chance, rather than just given up early and tossed his weight behind Kerry like aaaaallllll of the sheep in the Democratic party.

I agree. But I'd argue that Feasable Chance died in South Carolina, not Wisconsin.
