Update part deux: Topper Rides Again!
Apr. 27th, 2004 09:21 pmBack in the apartment and getting comfortable on the couch. (Leg's bothering me a bit, so...)
The interview went well. It was a bit shorter than I expected, but it felt more like the "I like this guy, and he looks like what we want" sort of short than the "Ehhh..let's wrap this guy up" sort of short.
Got my phone's bill switched over to my ownership rather than my mom's. Also got upgraded to a new model (though I fortunately kept my number.) A Nokia 3589i, with a kickass custom faceplate featuring a stylized red dragon, and a white dragon on the back. Nifty! Also got a car charger, belt clip and case, and a hands free set as part of the upgrade. Woot. Only downers were A) the store employees had a lot of trouble transferring my number because of some new system that wasn't working correctly, and B) the fact that I had to pay $15 to get my phone contacts transferred to the new model. Considering that this took all of 2 minutes where the woman hooked the old phone to a laptop, copied the contacts, then hooked up the new phone and transferred them back, I think being charged for it was rather...excessive. But, oh, well.
Noelle came up for lunch and shopping, which was great. Got to relax, hang out, gossip, and visit Pearls of Wisdom and Fly By Night to check things out. Even made a personal purchase of much meaning. The only negative note would probably have to be Noelle's insistance of calling the crutches my 'Cripplestix.' FEH!
Had dinner with my parents and got driven back, and had the most AMAZING thing on the way up when we stopped for gas: Steak and Shake will now add HOT FUDGE to any milkshake for an extra dollar. Let me be the first to say that this added a whole new level of 'MMMmmmmmmmmm' to the vanilla shake. For a DOLLAR.
Best. Deal. Ever.
Past that, things are good. Have a fasting test at Cleveland Clinic in the morning, so no food from now on until after the first blood draw, and then I'll have a bit to eat, get my next draw, and go to work.
