Jul. 7th, 2004 10:40 pmSadly, the hover vacuum was claimed by the time we arrived at the woman's home. The death catapult shall have to wait. But, for all that, we made a good haul.
2 sets of 4 setting silverware
Electric hand mixer
4 dining room chairs
1 standing bureau/TV centre.
Queen Sized Air Mattress
Electric air pump
Comforter for mattress
2 pillows.
Sheets for mattress
15 assorted picture frames, 3 of which are now in use.
4 tumblers.
4 glasses.
4 smaller glasses.
2 pyrex mixing bowls
2 corningware casserole dishes.
4 matching coffee mugs.
2 sifters.
Needless to say, the dishwasher is quite full.
The chairs need refinished, but are otherwise wonderful, and the TV center is going to need a bit of minor modification before we can put Alex's TV into it, but is otherwise great.
Total spent? $70.
Not bad at all.
Our initial rent/deposit checks were cashed rather late because the landlady was on vacation, so the money will be a little thinner than I expected until tomorrow night when my paycheck is deposited, but I'm not too concerned about that, really.
Things work. That's what matters. And we'll still be going down to Dayton on Saturday to see if there are a few more bargains we might manage here and there.
