Oct. 31st, 2004 03:30 pmFirst, happy new year, everyone.
I feel like I should attempt some form of weekend recap. What I can remember of it, anyhow.
neeri and
spartanfan each now have their new computers, as we'd been building both and were merely awaiting either parts or pickup on them, and all things came together over the past day or two. It's amazing. Alex and I now have (most of) the living room floor back. Our final PC build schedule for the near future, unless someone commissions one, will be a file/print/whatever server that will likely live in the basement. Alex and I got a case for it while we were out grocery shopping, and we have enough spare parts to do the rest.
I also found out that Crazy Kenny's seems to be matching www.newegg.com prices. Rather good to know, that. I suspect I will be buying from them more often, since not having to pay for shipping is rather nice.
Let's see, what else...
dklegman,
felislachesis,
litagemini,
neeri,
spartanfan, and I spent most of Friday evening in spontaenous alcoholism, thanks to the large amount of stuff people brought by, including a rather smooth bottle of raspberry vodka that is now a permanent resident for whatever the remainder of its' life shall be. Games were played, food eaten, far too much drunk, and we watched the first season of RvB and a bunch of Teen Titans. Good stuff.
Saturday was mostly spent in recovery, finishing
neeri's new box, drinking, or playing CoH. A trip to Claddagh also occured, and we found a rather interesting shop out in Powell.
Now: If you were driving, and saw a store called, Xcessories, with the tagline of "everything you need...and anything you want.", would you assume that it is a:
A) Sex shop
B) Curio/kitsch store
C) Some amalgamation of the two
Correct answers will be given after the quiz. (And yes, the sign was that colour. In neon.)
I will note that one of the things seen through the window on a closer-inspection driveby was a book titled "Any bitch can cook."
So far today, we bought groceries, got the rest of the computer stuff, and had an Indian lunch buffet before Alex had to go in to work.
All things considered, I think things are going rather well.
