Lisa's flight got canceled under her.
She's got a flight for tomorrow afternoon.
She's scared and kinda panicked. Wanted to know if I can drive out there tonight and get her.
Seriousy considerign.

What's to be afraid of, aside from a delay in flight?

It's not like you driving out and driving back will save any time, if the distance is as far as I think it is.

Shock, mostly. Getting torn away from a loved one and plans, I think.

I know it won't save time. But still. Dammit.

go.
now.

It has nothing to do with the time, it has to with what it will mean to her.

I know.

But it's very late and a long drive. I don't know if it'd be safe.

I know it's late...that's what caffeine is for. Of course safety is a concern, but you'll be careful.

My boyfriend once drove an 8 hour round trip to see me for 2 hours. I will never forget that.

Argh.

If I could be of any use as a second driver, I'd think about offering to accompany you. But as it is, I'd just be zonked out in the passenger seat.

You'll enjoy eachother's company much more, though, if you get a full night of rest, I think. Make sure she can get home, then both of you try to rest, would be my advice, if you asked. ;)

If she gets picked up, does it waste any money spent on the plane ticket? There is that to worry about.

It's probably not safe to drive in this weather.

Talk on the phone or via netcafe and let her know it will be okay.

I spent a whole night in the airport once. It's mildly uncomfortable at worst, but she will be fine.

Cancelled? That is some BS right there.

I wouldn't go for driving. It's a nice classic, sweeping romantic gesture, but it's also reserved for novels and bad movies. As was already mentioned, you'll enjoy each other much more if you're both well-rested.

*Tim and Dani on this together*

So we're talking a 6 hour drive, maybe longer. It'd be alone time, but not time when your full attention can be on her.

We agree with the person who said she'll never forget it...but it's supposed to be really shitty on the roads tonight, so we also agree with the safety-issue and money issue person.

*tim says*...I'd pamper her within an inch of her life when she finally got to where you are, personally. She's nervous about travelling over the holidays, a very stressful and nerve-racking time. Seeing you standing there with a dozen or so roses (airport? grocery store? maybe?) and a bottle of champagne, if they let you, would certainly ease my mind.

*dani says*...foot rubs can't hurt.

She's got an early flight now, and she may get something evenearlier.

We'll find a way to do this together.

Right now, we're waiting.

Talk to me online, if ya can?

Keep me up. :D

We'd be able to demand a refund. I think.

That's great!

I have to say, it's inspiring to see someone so obviously in love. It's really amazing and powerful.

*blush*

All I'm gonna say is a quote from our last phone burst -

"Well, you know I love you if I'm not leaving this damn airport until it's on a plane to Ohio!"

It sounds like that goes both ways.

Isn't love amazing? I met an amazing guy in April and I am just in awe of how good it feels to be really loved and respected by someone.

I do OK, usually.

It is pretty damn awesome, tho.
