Well, that was odd.

I just got cold-called by someone wanting to know if I was interested in a 3-month contract to hire position as a desktop tech in Dublin.

Odd call to take when you're working at your desk.

Not really interested in changing jobs right now, but it was a nice compliment.

This lady was pretty nice about it - she even admitted the resume on Dice she found for me was over 6 months old, so she wasn't expecting me to still be on the market.

Now, that's creepy. They called me on my cell, and that at least made some sense.

It's stressful sometimes, but it's still a good place. Glad to hear you're in fair shape, too. We really didn't get a chance to catch up before you had to go.

I got a phone call on my cell today from Robert Half, again... trying to offer me a phone support gig at a firm north of Dayton, for only $8/hr.

Yes, that's right. $8/hr.

Note: In 2000, I applied for a job directly with this firm, accepted it ( at $12/hour, per my pay stub)... and walked out after two weeks, horrified.
