Dumb thing to do: When discussing the phone contingency plans for the entire office tomorrow, since the Dublin team is supposed to be off, while Dallas handles things, don't mention that you're going to be in town until Noonish due to girlfriend's obligations.

It turns a day off into a half day of work remarkably quickly
