bzarcherOk, so while I only got to hit the house to grab my badge at "lunch" before going back to work for a back to back meeting funtime, I did check on Onyx while I was home.
As might be expected, he immediately attempted escape. (Introducing him to Patches yesterday went about as well as could be expected (hissing if he got within about a foot, some growling, and then Patches sulking off and watching him warily for awhile) but we're not quite ready to let him out of Alex's room without someone home to supervise the cats...) I scooped him up, gave him pets while I closed the door, got treated to a very loud purr, and then he decided to climb up. Getting on people's shoulders seems to be his favorite thing right now - he's half parrot, I swear.
Then, since I did need to get back, I walked over to Alex's bed and leaned over a bit to get him to jump down. It'd worked before, so why not now?
Why not, indeed.
What followed was Onyx deciding that rather than hopping the short distance down to the bed, he'd far prefer to walk around on my back, which had suddenly become this vast plain to explore, claws digging into the unique turf as he progressed down the slope.
I kinda wish someone had been there with a camera. I'm sure it was as cute as it was painful. It ended with him making his way all the way down to my waistband, reversing, climbing back up, and then leaping off from my shoulders to the bed after all.
