Congrats from both of us. That is very cool indeed.

First picture I've ever seen about you, and my reaction is, "Stanley cup. Meh. Lookit the face! Wanna hug!"

*blink* Really? Never? Huh.

But c'mon, give the punch bowl a little more credit. :D He looks damned good for a centenarian.

Seen it before. I was around for the Islanders' Stanley Cup hat trick. So "nice to see you again, Stanley," but OMG, Gandalfbear in the flesh!

Fair enough. :D

I'm still shocked that you hadn't seen my picture before, though - in my flickr somewhere if nowhere else. :>

eeee. :D

I've got a ton of pictures up from the draft (not all of them good, but hey.) The islander's table was pretty near our seats for the first half of day 2 (we switched sections to be closer to the stage after we went to see the Cup), so I've got some shots of Ted Nolan and their first pick (who was actually a 3rd rounder) putting on his 07 Islanders jersey in there. :D

Yeah, but how did the Jackets draft?

Very well! (Ms. C is an Islanders fan, so, playing a little to the audience there.)

Voracek was a great choice - easily the best at his position in the draft. I think that Legein will probably make the main club in 08-09, most likely, and Mayorov, once he comes over from Russia, has a strong potential to be an absolute beast on the ice. A huge steal at 94.

My only complaint is the lack of d-men drafted - the one we got, I think, will be a great guy when he seasons up a bit, but I'd have liked to see us try for one or two more.

On the other hand, that may mean that Howson has a plan for the free-agent season when it starts next week...hell, if we could somehow get our mitts onto a good centre (Nylander or Handzus?) and a sharp d-man (Preissing?), I might revise my guesstimate of the club making the playoffs from 08-09 to 07-08...
