Well, fortunately, I'd already thrown up before I went to talk to her, so that wasn't a problem.
It hurts, right now, and I won't lie about that. It hurts a lot. But after all was said and done, I told her that I couldn't be in a relationship where she just kept lying on top of lies, and wouldn't tell me the truth unless I forced the issue.
And as much as that hurts, I think that was the right stance to take.
I'm sorry to hear it (despite the fact that other comments on this entry make it sound like it was a healthy decision, which is good), and send hugs and my best wishes.
She best watch herself. All bets are off as to what will happen if Steve or I get hold of her. I think Steve will simply tell her what he thinks of her.
I make no promises of good behavior.
*grrs and goes into Big Sister mode*
I am glad you are shed of her issues, and just keep in mind that it hurts to dig a splinter out, but that pain is less than what would come of leaving it in to fester.
Ping if you need anything. When I get the land phone working, I'll holler.
I've been on both sides of this sort of thing (and let me tell you it sucks to admit that), and I think you handled it really well. It's what it took for me, from both sides of the fence.
Let me know if you could use something tropical - eases soreness and all that.
I'm sorry to hear it happened this way. I was hoping when I read your last post that, I dunno. Something maybe might prevent things. But it seems like this is maybe for the best. I remember us having a lot of talk last time, when we both were in the same position. I hope things get better for you this time, too.
*huggles* I know how you feel - ending a relationship is one of the worst things in the world but sometimes it just HAS to happen. And feel however you want to feel, don't keep it in. We're thinking of you over here :)
:( This is sad, and bad, but from what you have said sounds like a good decision. I am quite impressed how well you seem to have handled everything. i don't understand what things go into causing a person to behave like that. and i am very sorry it happened to you, and i hope that (though really, i am sure that) your involvement with lisa and everything that happened will make you into a better and stronger person somehow, or more something good. Hugs and love!
Small update... Matt's asleep, I'm not. I don't sleep until 2 am normally anyway. Lisa's at a friend's house down the street.
Matt never did anything to hurt her physically, he never raised his voice. I know inside, Matt's hurting a lot, but he's keeping himself very calm about the issue.
Any serious relationship has to be built on a solid foundation of trust. Without that, everything else is meaningless.
You did the right thing. Whatever you do, don't knuckle under if she pulls the drama card and says she can't possibly find a place within 30 days, or whatever. You're being extremely reasonable and accomodating about this, considering the facts.
Hang in there. You know you have us to lean on if you need to.
I'm pretty sure she can, actually. I really don't think she would have mentioned that Richard's new place has "a bunch of extra bedrooms!" if it wasn't a hint.
If you would like to get together and play around Columbus, just give a call. Afterall, you are a way cool person. And I have yet to see you since I moved here.

You had to protect yourself and do what you had to do.
