So, the Jackets win streak stops (for now) at 4.

All in all, however, it was a pretty good night to come away with that OT point.

1) Both teams did NOT play well to start the game.

2) Refs were abhorrent

3) Despite the two goals he let in (1 in reg, 1 in the shootout), Norrena kept the team in the game to earn that point, and did everything he could to steal the 2nd as well. No harm, no foul.

4) We used to go on these "West Coast Swings" and come out of it with maybe 2-3 points all season. This year we've come out on the first swing with 3 points, and off back to back games at that!

5) Our PK is fuckin' Strong. The Ducks were getting handed powerplays like leftover candy from last night, and yet their only regulation goal came off a very lucky puck at even strength. (And if Freddy'd kicked his leg out a little harder, they wouldn't have even gotten that!)

6) If we can build on the lessons from tonight (better 4 on 4 play, more shootout work, more PP work), I don't see why the team can't win their next game on Sunday.

I watched the first two periods before I had to sleep, and I don't really know what is good hockey yet, but I figured that any road trip where you play back to back games that include the defending Stanley Cup Champions and come away with 3 points is a pretty good trip.

That, sir, is some good figuring.
