I did, in fact, make it to CT safely, followed by me breaking down the door to the party room, meeting lots of neat people, drinking just enough to realize I was about to fall asleep on the floor, and made it back to my room just in time to fall asleep in a bed instead.
The "not really formally on the schedule but we're all in the same hotel" breakfast with the rest of the wedding party (sans bride and groom, who actually are staying in, y'know, houses), went really well, and had a nifty moment I thought would include for my various book-geek friends.
Dude to my left: "So, Matt, Alex, how do you guys know Phil and Jenn?"
Me: "Oh, we're friends of Phil from Wooster."
Dude: "The College of Wooster? I didn't know Phil went there."
Us: "Yep, that's where we all got together."
Dude: "Wow. Wooster. My dad has a scholarship there."
Us: "Really?"
Dude: "Yeah, the Stephen R. Donaldson "yadda yadda yadda, hey, you're good at writing!" scholarship."
So, yeah. Just had breakfast with Stephen R. Donaldson's son, which was really neat.
Tux is about 2/3 assembled, and I'm just kicking back a bit before we start heading to the lake for photos and then the main event. I think it's a testament to the tailor who put my tux together that 6...no wait, got it Sophomore year so that's about 7...geez, Almost 8 years after I got it, the tuxedo fits perfectly, while the rented shirt and vest (to match the other groomsmen, etx) needed me to adjust various fits and fiddles before I was happy with them. If I ever need another tuxedo, it's absolutely coming from that shop.
