Dec. 3rd, 2007 03:17 pmSo, yeah. Back at work.
Um. Yay?
New office is very new. I have windows that look out on the plaza/parking areas instead of the highway. (I'm literally on the other side of the building. My crap basically moved straight back along the axial hallway until it hit a wall.) Can't decide if I like it or not. Lots of on and off snow today but nothing's sticking. Very grey and not particularly a good vista to judge it by.
I'm mostly caught up, somehow, but I'm not really feeling entirely here. Maybe it's being gone for 2 weeks that makes it surreal, or maybe the new desk.
I'm almost completely isolated. When Laura works from home (like today) there's easily 12 feet from my office to the nearest human occupied cube. I'm working like usual, but I kinda had this moment of "You know, you could do -anything- back here, long as it wasn't too noisy, and as long as you keep punching out tickets and writing the appropriate reports, they'd never know." A little scary, to be honest.
Oh, and I have a fan that someone left in here.
Totally unneccessary discussion point: Anyone gotten Rock Band yet? I hear the guitar's longer? Is that so? How much, if I can ask? One of the reasons I had to take periodic breaks from GH was that my arms start to cramp after an hour or two of playing, and I think the larger guitar would help with that. (Not that I will actually get to play guitar when we do co-op at home. Anyone I might play with knows I used to play drums in a band "for realz" so I have no doubt I'll be physically welded to my kick pedal.)

Date: 2007-12-03 09:07 pm (UTC)Well, it at least sounds better, so we'll see. (I don't have it yet - waiting for the holidays to be over, but it's a foregone conclusion we will eventually...)

Date: 2007-12-04 03:18 am (UTC)Maybe, but Guitar Hero knows that it's pure silliness, runs with it, and is all the better for doing so.
Also, ZOMG Message In A Bottle is fun.
