When I went to bed, the Jackets were losing 2-0, despite leading in shots (and penalty minutes, thanks to Dan Fritsche and OKT going house. :D)

When I woke up this morning...well, what can we say but this?

This was a triumph! I'm making a note here, huge success. It's hard to overstate my satisfaction!

This was EXACTLY what the team needed. Keep playing like fucking wildmen, boys. Keep screaming, clawing, and fighting every night....and who knows what might happen?

Anyhow.

One last thing about Foote that was in the paper today:

A private jet, possibly leased by Foote's agent, took off from Pittsburgh on Monday night -- some 16 hours before the trade deadline -- and parked itself at Port Columbus overnight. This is the jet that whisked Foote to Calgary in time for him to suit up for the Avalanche on Tuesday night. Foote prearranged to have a pile of tickets ready for his friends and family.

It's a shame we don't play them again until next year. I suspect that Boller would take his head off.

In happier news about someone leaving the team, Jiri Novotny flew back to Columbus because his wife went into labor. If I remember right, this is their first child. Congratulations, and I hope everyone's healthy and happy today. :D

I'd say that calls for declarations of vengeance. And when I say "declarations of vengeance" what I mean is that that collusion grievance is sounding better all the time. Assuming it could be proven.

I wouldn't be shocked at all to find out that Howson and the front office are working on it. I suspect the clincher will be if/when he resigns in Col., and for how much.

I hung in there. Ok, I was watching Flight of the Conchords, but I had the game on. OT was awesome. Great feed from Zherdev.
