Oooo, boy.
Apr. 17th, 2008 02:17 amI've been having some odd off and on sleep issues the last couple weeks. I figured it was residual from the cold I'd fought off + recovery from the pulled muscle in my back that's finally healed. (Nothing interrupts sleep like turning onto your side, and that entire side of your body is suddenly on fire.)
As you can see, it's 2am.
I watched the Pens game, and was pretty fired up. I got into EVE to play around. Ended up going on some missions. Talked great medicine. Blew some things up.
Said, "Y'know, I don't feel tired at all", around Midnight.
I -still- don't feel tired. I'm gonna try to MAKE myself sleep for getting up to go to work.
I have a feeling my sleep schedule is TOTALLY shot if I'm getting up at 6:30, working a full day (without any problems/fading/napping), go on for another 4+ hours of hockey and then 4 hours of EVE without blinking.
Oye. This is gonna be fun to deal with.

Date: 2008-04-17 12:58 pm (UTC)I got somewhere between four and four and a half hours of sleep, and I feel surprisingly damn good. (Though one of the other departments sending us "THANK YOU!" donuts may be part of that.)

Date: 2008-04-17 01:05 pm (UTC)Lately I've been having the opposite problem: needing too much sleep. I've been sleeping my normal sevenish hours every night, but yesterday I also took a three-hour nap in the middle of the day. And was still tired at bedtime. What the what?

Date: 2008-04-17 01:39 pm (UTC)What's your diet been like? I'm sure you're eating well with Phil in the house, but you might try messing around with things to try to up the energy level? Different veggies, change up the carb levels, etx.

Date: 2008-04-17 03:01 pm (UTC)For the "turning over onto pain" problem, what I've done is wedged pillows into/on the bed, so I can't really turn over onto that spot. It's still soft, so I don't hurt myself, but when I try to move over and there's this not-flat spot, it stops me from turning over all the way and I usually just roll back.
Not that sleeping with a bad back is good sleep, anyway, but not aggravating it more during sleep is important. If you're worried about the pillows moving, use a sheet to tuck them down onto the right spot on the bed, that way they won't migrate.

I'm going to have to start gardening in earnest next week, and I have to remember to set limits so I don't hurt myself. A little at a time, that's the only way to do it....
