Absinthe really seemed to me to be something you try once to say you've tried it. Though part of that was the illegality. It never seemed worth that risk. Maybe it'd be worth trying again.

I'm sure that to say you've done it -is- a good reason, but FDA standards on the toxins are so strict that I don't think there's much risk, all things considered.

I actually like licorice, sours, and various bitter flavours, so it wouldn't surprise me if I'm one of the odd people who might drink it for the taste.

I feel substantially less badass for continuing to horde my now-no-longer-illegal bottle of French absinthe I smuggled back from Finland in 2006.

I've had the homemade stuff from a friend back in Pgh, and I actually do like the taste - being one of those freaks who loves licorice... It's flavored with anise and kinda tastes like fennel seeds.

I'll be happy to bring some over to share!
