The moment when you realize "I could totally fix this myself, if the $critical small part hadn't rusted out and shattered."

In a not unrelated story, I took the jammed drain plug out of my bathroom sink today after the Angelbeat seminar. Further repairs on hold until I see if I can replace said part without buying a whole new faucet.

The only gas line in the kitchen is to the stove, and me 'n Dad checked it out. Pilot lights are lit and there's no leak in the gas line itself. Might be one in the stove, it's more than a little old so I may have to put that on the same shopping list as the dishwasher.

Yeah, the stove that came with our house had just enough "little problems" that we decided it was worth just buying a new one.
