while the whole thing looks pretty scrumptious, I am especially interested in the bean concoction represented right before it gets white powder (flour? cornstarch?) mixed in with it... what is involved in that? that looks like it would be a tasty base for a chili...
Mix well in a large bowl until you get the sugar completely worked in, then add a 24 oz. can of drained red kidney beans, a 15 oz. can of chili beans, a 15 oz. can of drained black beans, a 15oz. can of pork and beans, a can of 15 oz. drained butter beans, a medium sized diced onion and a diced green pepper. Pour into a baking dish and add some pulled pork, rib meat, or some bacon on top, then cover with foil and bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Then remove the foil and cook for another 20. Let them cool for about 5 minutes after you take them out of the oven.

Date: 2008-09-07 03:46 am (UTC)It's basically a calico bean recipe.
It goes something like this.
2 C. of ketchup
2 tbsp. of mustard
1 1/2 c. of brown sugar (packed)
1/2 c. of honey
2 tbsp. of bbq rub
