Traded in the PS2 and most of it's games except for ones Alex felt he could get better value on eBay.

Picked up:

Mario Party DS
Mario Kart Wii + extra wheel
ExciteTruck
Battalion Wars 2

And Alex paid off his Wrath of the Litch King pre-order. :)

We may have to throw down some internet based Mario Kart.

Might I also recommend Metroid Prime: Corruption. That one was the best of the three, I think.

I'm hearing several opinions on Metroid Prime 3. I suspect it may be a rental before I go full out on it.

Well there are a lot of people that don't like the Prime series in general.

But yea, if you're not sure, rent it. I personally think it's one of the most fun console FPS games I've played.

I guess I'm one of those opinions XD

I heartily recommend trying Prime 3 out in any event. But you should also look at the first two. Or at least the first, since it's probably available for ubercheap what with being a greatest hits title. You just need to get a gamecube controller and memory card if you already don't have the purple box.

My biggest gripe with Prime 3, as I mentioned before, is the kinda bland map design (not the art direction, the areas LOOK great, but the overall layout of the levels I found to be kinda so-so) and the railroading. But that last point is a personal opinion, as I prefer the more open, free-roaming Metroid like Super, or the first Prime. Prime 3 railroads you like Metroid Fusion did, if that means anything to you. But if you don't mind the plot telling you 'go here, then go here, then go here' it won't make a difference. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed Fusion and Prime 3, they were good games, I just liked Super Metroid and Prime 1 more, overall. (speaking of, Super Metroid is totally a Virtual Console recommended download for the love of gaming get that one if you have a Classic Controller)

Super Metroid is probably coming sooner or later. Might use our existing wavebirds instead of the classic controller, tho. :)

That works too. Super Metroid, at least, lets you change button configuration so it plays a lot better on wavebirds than a lot of other SNES games.

I'm kinda boggling. I can't picture giving up my PS2 and all the shiny RPGs I can play on it, but hey, different people, different tastes. :)

EXCITE TRUCK IS FUKKING AWESOME! :D Can you tell my hubby and I play it a LOT?

Alex looked at it, and it basically came down to:

"Alex, have you even turned the PS2 -on- since we moved into the house?"

......

"...no."
