I have hit the wall doing NT account / Exchange Alias reconcillations, so before I go home I'm gonna answer
mscongeniality the meme I owe her. :)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Reply to this post with the word MEME and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including this info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never ending cycle of icon glee.
I can't promise certain glee, kids. It depends entirely on you.
She chose these!

1. RahXephon - this came out of convenient timing. Back awhile ago,
neversremedy was learning to do animated GIFs and asked if anyone would like some free icons. I'd just finished watching RahXephon in subtitled form, and really liked it, so I asked her if she'd mind doing one. She googled around, found a nice picture of the Xephon, and added the cylon border. It's a nice Anime/Scifi/geek icon I'll throw around now and then.
(If you've never seen the anime, and would like one to watch, I reccomend it. Think a nice SciFi story with a bit of Evangelion flavor, except the creators don't hate you and anything you've ever loved.)
2. Scorpenstein - I'm trying to remember where I found this. I know I was looking for pictures of Einstein, and it showed up, and it made me laugh. I liked Farscape anyhow, so I went with it. It became a bit of a "SCIENCE!" / "So what have we learned?" icon. There are at least 3 people on my friends list that have violent reactions every time they see it, which is rather amusing.
3. Aquila - this is actually the front of one of my 40k cases that I painted the Aquila gold on to help tell it apart from some of my other cases, Alex's cases, Todd's cases, or anyone else playing 40k nearby. It's one of my "Talking about 40k/minis" icons and just looks really classy.
dklegman took the photo.
4. Monolith - Another
dklegman find on a silly photoshopping website. The "Things in progress!" icon with just a twist of WTF. Remember that the ratio must always be 1:4:9.
5. Threat - One of the covers from Warren Ellis' Doktor Sleepless books, which I got really fascinated by when he was posting previews and teasers during its' gestation, and now I'm a bad person who is buying trades because I cannot be arsed to figure out which comic shops in my area are still decent. I got a kick out of a lot of the various future warning signs, and grabbed this for a good "Oh, what the hell now?" kind of icon.
6. BBQ - The fire chamber of my smoker! I took this picture during one of the initial cooking sessions, and really liked the look of the coals and the brick lining against the dark green of the body and the iron door. Usually used for posts about the smoker or showing off the food I've made. :) Best. Summer Project. Ever.
Here's hoping you enjoyed that! Come by later for our next episode, where Tommy learns why you're not supposed to launch model rockets indoors!

Date: 2008-10-29 02:29 pm (UTC)We've been running through the entire series lately. About to start watching the Peacekeeper Wars. Have to finish Babylon 5 first, though.
Torrent is our friend.

If you want to do the meme....hn...you only have 6 user icons, so I guess explain everything.
Or, y'know, not.
