Went to check the basement to see if Onyx(?) was hiding in the duct there, since he hasn't surfaced for a few hours.

Found the output valve on the water heater loose and about a quarter inch of standing water in the basement. God dammit.

Toweled up as much as I could, put fans down to dry out the rest, really didn't need this tonight.

Have I mentioned I hate the holiday season?

Dude, the same thing happened to my professor the other day, except more violently, and with feet instead of inches.

Something like that, I suppose. It's pretty much dried now, thank god. Just going to have a lot of towels to put through the laundry.
