This is an oddly dark and somewhat sinister quote to use for Cara, because while she's quite practical, Cara's also one of the most positive and optimistic people I know.
Like a lot of people I have, will, or intend to make posts about during this meme, Cara and I met at Wooster - I'm 99% sure we started talking about gaming stuff within the first couple days of freshman move in, and I'm almost certain she was hanging out in the Douglass lounge playing Lunch Money within the week.
My basic mental image of Cara is her sitting on a couch in the lounge and looking at me with an extremely "Bwuh?" expression about something I just said, and when I mentally transpose that into her priestly vestments, it gets even better. It's like I told a horrible joke in the middle of communion or something.
It's probably sacrilegious, but I suddenly have the idea that it'd be really fun to try and make Cara crack up laughing in the middle of services. New project! :)
It doesn't surprise me that Cara found her vocation in the ministry because she has a natural gift for listening to people, and she's an excellent practitioner of both the conversation and the classical Argument. Both are gifts that I am sure serve her well daily in her calling.
I really enjoyed getting the chance to take part in Cara and II's wedding last year, particularly with our song and dance act at the reception, and I love the pictures and updates she's posted since their move down to Florida and the adoption of Conal and Dylan, their two VERY cute doggies.
