Reading the Odyssey for class, as I sorta mentioned before.

Now, everyone knows about Menelaus and poor Helen, but did you know they had a daughter even more beautiful than she?

And her name was Hermione.

Think Harry Potter for a second.

Now, I'm curious to see if that name choice was coincidental or not....

Probably not coincidental. Dude, Homer's influenced about as much about Western literature and thought as Aristotle. ;)

I'm more curious the effect she may have in the story. Perhaps not a Trojan War for her, when she sprouts into womanhood (I'm not counting the temporary sprouting in Goblet of Fire, just the real thing), but I have a feeling we may see relationships in Hogwarts shift around a good bit.

Well...the Trojan War started because Paris was an idiot and took Aphrodite's bribe of "the most beautiful woman in the world for his wife"...too bad she was already married to a guy who knew a bunch of other guys. ;)

The kicker would be...is there a Paris figure in HP?

Well, you never know...plain little girls tend to grow into rather beautiful women more often than not. I could see it happening.
