So I got an email today at work that the AT&T foundation will celebrate their 25th anniversary by letting employees nominate their favorite charities, and they'll select one charity each quarter to recieve a $25,000 gift.
I figure the chances are astronomical, but I decided to try anyhow, so I reached out to Child's Play to see if I could get the EIN and 501(c)(3) information I needed to nominate them. I sent an email explaining what I wanted to do, and gave them my office's phone information so they could call the main PBX and get to my desk to confirm I wasn't full of crap. :) I got a phonecall within about 30 seconds and had a nice talk with their program director. With a little help from her in explaining their official mission statement and filling in the blanks, I got the application written up and submitted.
I have no idea if this will work out...in fact, I honestly kind of doubt it will just because of how many employees probably will nominate more 'traditional' charities, but I really, really hope that they'll look at the testimonials from paitents and their families that CP has helped, and decide to take part.
