Feb. 17th, 2004 10:19 amMatt,
I'm sorry, but Highlights has still not returned our requests for information, so we are fairly confident that this means they hired the other candidate. I'm sorry, and will keep you in mind for other opportunities, and want to thank you for all your paitence in this.
Well, between that and several other things this morning, including a professor who decided to fuck off to Germany setting a bunch of custom passwords on his department's production server and not leaving them with anyone in case of a problem (like they're having now, and one that would be an easy fix if we just had administrator access), I believe the appropriate description of this morning is:
Son of a BITCH.

I'm so getting a huge ass burger for dinner. Serious meat craving.
Some good stuff today. Got a Valentine's day card from my grandparents with $30 in it (or as I like to call it, Alternators Sideswipe and the multi-vitamins Lisa wants me to start), and a rather interesting conversation with the director of HR when I went to fix his PC today, in which he mentioned that the CIO process is speeding up, and might well be hired soon. And he followed that with, "So...if, by chance, you hadn't taken another job by then, and we offered you a full time position, would you think about it?"
I was honest, and said it would depend on the terms of the contract and what else was up at the time, but that I would seriously consider the offer.
Then Beagle.B came out, and I spent the rest of the day running around updating as much virus protection stuff as possible due to an all hands alert called by the Network guys...who then called and apologized 2 hours later when they found that the virus filtering appliance was catching nearly all of it.
We'll see how it all comes out, but at least it should be a fun evening.
I think, however, I may take the week off of MUSHing. Too much crazy stuff planned at work, too many games I want to catch back up on, and honestly, I don't feel a burning urge to be logged in ATM.
