I was awakened today with several phone calls from cast members and Doug to
pass along the terrible news that this morning, Richard Biggs passed away.

We're still gathering information, so take none of this as firm word, but what
seems to have happened, happened quickly. He woke up, got up out of bed...and
went down. The paramedics who showed up suggested it was either an aneurysm or
a massive stroke.

His family members have been informed, and all of the the cast have, as far as
we can determine, also been informed.

This is a terrible loss for all of us. Richard was a consummate professional
but more than that he was an honorable, stand-up guy. If he gave you his word
on something, you never had to wonder about it afterward. He was always
helpful and supportive of all the cast, even those who only came in for one
episode, always with a ready smile and determined to do whatever it took to
make the scene work. He was, quite simply, a terrific guy, and everyone here
is just devastated at the news.

More word as this develops. We may try to have some kind of fund raiser to
help give whatever assistance may be helpful for his kids.

We all miss him terribly.

So, John came down from Wooster to see how I was doing, and it was good.

We hit Easton for awhile (he is absolutely addicted to 'big city' shops. It's kinda funny. He walked into Hot Topic and nearly fell to his knees in glee.) Then we got some lunch and I showed him around the northern end of Columbus/suburbs, including out to the apartment I'm looking at, my work, and through a decent bit of Dublin.

I also found out that John eagerly plots to buy a Mini Cooper S as soon as he pays off his truck.

It was, all in all, nice to see a friend, nice to hear how things were going at Wooster, and to show someone around.

(And, in the geek de grace, we found Pac-Man steering wheel covers on sale for $5 at Not Gothic, and bought the last 2. My Kia is now filled with Pac-Man fever.)

*grumble* I have an urge to find X Japan music after hearing 'Rose of Pain'.

Problem: Amazon wants an arm, leg, and 2 children. ($50-60 per CD.)
Problem: eBay is pretty bare, though I found a guy in South Korea who looks like he's selling genuine copies of the Korean re-releases for prices I could probably manage.
Problem: Nobody in the U.S. seems to have bootlegs or originals.

*grumble*

Anyone have a spare track here or there that I could listen to? I'm going ahead and bidding on a couple things, and hopefully they won't get too out of control, but...
