Aug. 14th, 2005 11:18 pmThings done today:
Got various bits of foam from JoAnn fabrics and The Container Store to make terrain with. I already have a pair of decent bunkers and some tank traps/barricades as a result. We also got stuff to make hills and the like. Also, we now own a hot wire cutter.
I find it deeply amusing that in addition to stocking lamps with corsets for shades (no, I'm not joking), JoAnn fabrics employees don't know where the styrofoam is, but if you ask them if they sell hot wire cutters, they know exactly where and will be happy to show you.
Hot wire cutters are awesome. *ZZZZT*
Had Dave, Rich, and John over. War was had, things were grilled up deliciously, and lots of smack talk and general goodwill.
Went to the State Fair yesterday. Sang in the AOSFYC alumni concerts, had a decent amount of good food, had the best damn lemon-shakeups possible, and discovered that as scary as the idea of deep-fried cookie dough is, it actually tastes damn good.
Shatzer came down from Wooster as part of going to the fair, and we took him around town for awhile. Found out that Ravenstone's newest in a long line of owners is once again a nice guy, but seems totally inept at running the store or knowing about new product coming about. It's good that they're still consistent.
Good weekend. As usual, it wasn't nearly long enough.
