Latest episode of season 2 downloaded and watched. Interestin'...

DWC downloading along with a few other odds and ends - should be done by morning.

The rest is mostly for my own bookkeeping.

Tomorrow:

-Wrap present for Mom
-Pick up cake
-Finish Cleaning Downstairs
-Start the roast by 1:30 at the latest
-Shop for final stuff so you and Alex can make dinner.
-Lemon
-Mushrooms
-Tea
-Bread
-Wine? - Left off. Also remembered we'd need 8 more wineglasses, not in the mood to drop another $75 after this with what we already spent.
-Scrounge extra chairs
-Deploy the card table - possibly use couch as bench style seating?
-Cook the rest of dinner or you're probably in trouble by this point - ALMOST THERE! Just waiting for the roast to finish, everyone's on the way. Phew.

I'm almost certain I'm forgetting stuff in there, and I've a feeling I'll only really get half of it done, but as long as Alex, Lisa, and I can land a good meal on the table for all the people coming over, and the cake doesn't catch fire or something, I'll settle. (Though if it does catch fire, I'll be furious. I've spent the past 4 days cleaning, dammit.)

Yay - found a good iced tea recipie. Since it requires cooling overnight, I've started the seep and will finish it in about a half hour. I'm starting to understand how my granma could stay up until 4am working on things for holiday meals/gatherings - it's not about the workload, sometimes it's just about making it for the people you love, and getting as much done in advance to make that easier.

It went off really, really well. Phew.

I don't know why, but I just had this urge to really do this up well, and Alex and Lisa both were absolutely wonderful in helping me make this a special day for my Mom, which I'm really, really grateful for.

I went back to find out what I'd missed during the Babylonian Captivity of the last few seasons, since I didn't know why one of the most important cast members was supposed to be in jail. When I finally looked it up and read the explanation, the level to which the show had dipped was pretty evident.

I mean, good God, if you're going to make a controversial plot twist that gets a man sent to jail, could you at least make it about something that actually sounds interesting?
