Well, the last words of the West Wing might be some of the best to ever end a show with.

Edit: Huh.

I went back to find out what I'd missed during the Babylonian Captivity of the last few seasons, since I didn't know why one of the most important cast members was supposed to be in jail. When I finally looked it up and read the explanation, the level to which the show had dipped was pretty evident.

I mean, good God, if you're going to make a controversial plot twist that gets a man sent to jail, could you at least make it about something that actually sounds interesting?

Yeah, I kinda lost all interest in the show when the original creator quit writing it.

I have to admit, this episode felt more like a Sorkin one than a lot of the ones since he left. (Part of me wonders if he stopped by and gave them a hand.)

I'm also pretty interested in his next show - Studio 60 - if it's much like the draft script for the pilot that's been floating around, I suspect it'll kick ass.

Sorkin's writing was a large part of what made West Wing actually pleasant to watch. That it held togeter as well as it did afterward is a testament to the raw acting talent concentrated in the cast.

I read the other day that Sorkin is working on something new for TV, although the name completely escapes me.

Studio 60. - basically a backstage drama about a SNL style show. Looks good in the previews. :D
