Opened the Disgrace this morning, and there's another massive dose about the All-Star Game, Pascal's snub, Nasher getting promoted to a starter, the skills competition last night, and Columbus' situation re: PLAYOFFS. (PLAYOFFS? P-p--p...PLAYOFFS? You kidding me?)

The Dispatch has always had "middlin'" coverage, though I admit its been steadily improving the last two years (co-incidental with the removal of Douggie Mac? I don't think so...), but this is incredible for the team to get this much ink, let alone this much ink during a week where only one of our players is participating in anything!

I gotta wonder if Arace and Portzline just snapped, locked the Buckeye beat reporters in a closest, and decided to hijack their columns.

...huh.

So, after 4chan found God, it looks like they've decided to take on Scientology.

I'm curious if this will actually work. Certainly the CoS has been -very effective- at dropping attempts by both groups and individuals to expose them as lunatic fascists in the past. But this is different, because they're not trying legal channels or counter-propaganda so much as they're just trying to grief the hell out of them, and it's not like they're giving the CoS a solid face to attach to their counter strikes.

OK, the Jacket Backers' All Star Game party was a lot of fun, and the game was a lot of fun to watch, but does Gary Bettman hate Columbus or something?

The LeClaire snub sucked (and Osgood showed exactly how much of an all Star that he wasn't), but Jesus Christ, all Nasher did was score the fastest all star game goal in NHL history, get only the 15th ASG hat trick in NHL history, only the third player with consecutive multi-goal ASGs for 3 years in a row, and keep the West in the game to the very end.

Eric Staal got the game winner, but I don't think his performance was anything like what Nash did. This makes the 2nd year in the row where even the guys in the booth said that Nash should have been the MVP, and someone from the East was named instead.
