Heh. Yeah, sorry, I kinda had to do that.

Mike is another part of my Canadian contingent of friends. I could probably open a branch office up there at some point. :)

Our friendship goes back to playing at M3 as Robot Masters, though I read some of his writing here and there with OL and the related webcomic stuff a bit before that.

We've hung around at M3, we've collaborated on a fanart wallpaper for Miracle of Science, we've even done a bit of City of Heroes.

If I could get him into EVE, we'd have done something in just about every geeky activity I enjoy.

We're both fans of the brain-breaking that is Excel Saga, and that's a little scary, too.

I think the best thing about Mike, though, is that he has the gift to project a ton of emotion through his writing, and a natural sense of comedy.

Yes, folks, he brings the funny. He brings it by the truck. And that is why he is indeed awesome.

The Zaku's the most metal icon I have, Elissa. :) Hope you find it appropriate.

Of all the people I've written these for, Elissa's probably one of the ones I've known for the least amount of actual time. In something that will surprise nobody, we were introduced when she was moving to Columbus by a mutual friend with the explanation of "She likes guns."

So our first conversation started with places around town to shoot both indoors and out, and then started branching into reccomended places to live, food suggestions, and went on impressively from there. Not surprisingly, one of the first places we went once she got to town was a gun shop, and there was a GLORIOUSLY awkward dinner where I introduced her to my dad so he could tell her about some of the gun shows and clubs in town and he assumed I was trying to date her.

I'll pause so Elissa can finish laughing.

After that, though, we don't actually talk guns that much. When we get together it's mostly hanging out, talking about our cats, computer stuff, books, and usually going "OMG" about the fantastically good Indian food she found.

Elissa's awesome because she's one of those friends who will drop by whenever just because you might want to get some company, or take you out for some lunch because it's been a bad day. She'll listen to you vent about things she has no idea what you're talking about, and long as you're willing to listen to her vents she considers it an excellently fair trade.

She's quickly become an awesome piece of our social circles here, and I'm quite happy to say she's at least willing to tolerate going to hockey games with us (especially when it goes with free food. :>)

I'm very glad she's here, and while I know it's not 100% certain that she'll stay around here, I certainly hope that we'll still remain friends.

Viking Finn Vegetarian METAL girl. A study in awesome.
