Hrm. More I'm thinking:

Unless by some miracle my family is cool enough to get me a new set of Bokken for my birthday, I should buy myself a set with the money I'll probably end up with.

(Note: Yes, you're all my friends, and yes, I know you're cool enough to do this. But I don't expect any of you to get me stuff. Ya'll have better things in your lives to spend money on than me.)

*blushes* You really still don't need to, but to educate: Bokken are wooden practice swords, used in Kendo style fencing, which usually look something like this or this.

Why would you want bokken? Shinai are much more fun, and no-one outside of Musashi could manage to kill/injure someone with a shinai. (Unless they were asleep or something.)
