I know today is really almost all just about making people buy stuff. About selling chocolate. About cards that don't mean half as much.

I know that I spend every day telling her how much I love her, and that today is nothing unusual in that respect.

I know she doesn't want anything special, and that she hates 2/14 as a holiday.

Yet I have to give in and do this.

I love you, Lisa Christine. With all my heart. With everything I am.

And every day I get to spend with you, in person or otherwise, has been better than the ones which came before. Every day I learn something new about you, about me, and about this new thing that we seem to be creating called 'us'. Every day I get to see you smile.

I know that things aren't perfect. I know that they probably won't ever be. But I don't care, because I am willing to work on the problems, and to give my energy to keeping the relationship happy and strong. I am willing to stay the course in the roughs, because the smooth parts are more wonderful than I can say.

I love you, Lisa. And my only wish for tonight is that somehow I could wake up in bed with you tomorrow.
