Home, alive, safe, and all that. Spent some time hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] ijikeru, who was kind enough to buy me a copy of Megatokyo vol. 1 at Virgin (and at $9, I think it's the cheapest thing I've ever -seen- at a Virgin store!)

Alison's doing okay, on new meds.

Looks like we leave for Florida after early Sunday church. Can't tell you how much I 'look forward' to that.

I mean...I want it to go well, but I just can't make up a lot of enthusiasm for this.

We'll see.

(Also got the disturbing sight today of my Dad apparently trying on his swimsuit and walking around.....he looks emaciated. Like, pictures of P.O.W.s and Jews leaving the concentration camps emaciated. I could count his ribs, and a lot of his flesh just sort of hung off his bones, and not in good ways. If that's what dieting does for people who go down to 'proper' weight levels, I'm increasingly distrustful of this Optifast shit. I actually -like- who I am. I don't think that's an improvement.)

I wonder if this is yet another of these addictive diet products... I know some diet pills have been pulled off of the market over the years because of addictiveness. You may want to look into that for your parents' sake.

Enjoy your week, Matt. And pack lots of cool clothes. It's already 80+ degrees in FL. Tip: Pack things you don't mind getting soaked in rain. I hope the weather holds up for you, but this is the rainy season...

Dahlin'...

Not to sound like a proponent of such things, but with the weight he's sloughed, it's going to take a while for the skin to rebound from having lots to fill and now having much less.

And, of course, there's no exercize involved, I believe. So all the lightweight padding is going away and there's no dense muscle to recover it.

Usually dieting involves lots and lots of exercize to help one's body establish a metabolism and more muscle mass to set up a healthy internal weight control system.

This is fasting, which is always bad. Look at the name.
