Well, my history of odd medical responses continues.

My physical was fine. My eye exam was a little different...

My left (dominant) eye? Perfect. Exactly 20/20.

My right eye? Increasing astigmatism, which went from so minor I didn't need glasses a few years ago to a definite need for them. (Explains my occasional headaches.) But, it's 20/15.

Yes. Farsighted.

Despite the fact that people who do what I do with computers almost always develop nearsightedness.

Oh, well. At least the frames I picked out are really cool, and will be shipped to me at school. (And I can even get the same frame with colored lenses if I decide I want prescription sunglasses.)

Little changes...

Yergh. You're right, that would explain the headaches. :p

But if you get perscription sunglasses, make sure you've got regular lensed-pair for night-time wear. ^^

*grins* That's why I'm getting the regular lenses first. :D

I would've liked to get a pair of photochromatic glasses last time I had to get my perscription changed (about two years ago, I think) but they don't make them in bifocal form... Dammit.

Perscription sunglasses sound like a neat idea.

They are, indeed, fun. And maybe availible in bifocals here? In fact, I think they are, since my dad has a pair, now that I think about it. Not colored, but still. Sunglasses.

...have you considered emigrating? Australia seems to take a long time to get the cool things in life.

Idly speculated on the idea a few times. Not sure if I really want to become an American citizen as well (since dual-citizenship is now permitted for Australian citizens since they repealed Section...17, I believe). If anything, Canada seems like a more appropriate choice for me. ;)

'Sides, sure, we have to wait a bit longer for most things out here, but hey, it teaches patience, and there's other compensations.

Oh! We can get permanently tinted bifocals here easily enough. I meant the photochromatic version, y'know, goes dark out in the sun, clear inside. But a pair of sunnies might be a better idea. Dunno. I'll see what the specialist says next time I go in for a check. Apparently bifocals are going out of fashion, since everyone prefers multifocal, but I like having just two levels of focus, not infinite, thankyouverymuch. :)

Canada's not a bad option. Neither's resident alien status, if you didn't want to go D-C. And yes, paitence is good, and it's a beautiful country, but the cost of living's a bit lower, depending where you go... :D

Okay, and I want to coerce more friends to live where I have chances of meeting them in person.

Past that, the sunglasses are a great idea, and that is what my dad has, not the permatints. And my mom wears photochromatic bifocals. Wish I'd made that connection earlier! Past that, good luck, and all hail the bifocal!

Surprisingly, my parents suggested I might want to save up some money for a trip overseas at the end of this year when my traineeship ends. Tour of the US and Canada sounds like a good idea. :)
