I got a dreamcast! I got a dreamcast! I got a dreamcast! I got a dreamcast!...

But soul calibur looks like shit on this 1967 TV. D'OH.

Fortunately, I can use the TV downstairs or the guys next door if I really need a fix, since he -also- has a DC now. (five guys from the dorm bought DCs today, actually. A massive Funcoland run was done when we found out that the basic system was only $50, and games are cheap. I owe Gabe down the hall $25, as he chipped in on games rather than buy a DC, but I am now the proud owner of:

Dreamcast with RF adapted
Spare RF adapted because the guy didn't tell me it came with one and I bought it assuming I'd need to use it to connect it.

My boss has already offered to make me a boot disk and a ton of copied games. All I have to do is give him a spindle of CD-Rs that happens to be sitting on my desk. Mwahahahahahah.

Oh, and a new TV will be bought with this summer's first or second paycheck. Or maybe even the paycheck I get in 2 weeks. MWahahahahahah.

Yay Dreamcast. I bought mine right after Sega announced that they were pulling out of hardware. Cost $100 at the time.
Of the various console systems I either currently own, or have owned in the past, I think it's my favorite. Seems to have the highest proportion of good games going on.

you WANT Skies of Arcadia. trust me.

and SF Rush 2049 and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. Those are my three benchmarks of the DC experience, along with Soul Calibur.

the other fun thing about the DC is just how many weird import games it has. check http://www.ncsx.com/ (but do hang onto your wallet, it may want to run away.)

Rush 2049 is AWESOME. THPS2 is decent. I suggest Jet Grind Radio as well; that game singlehandedly restored my faith in console gaming.
