Aug. 9th, 2003 01:47 pmEven when it comes a bit too early in the morning, being awoken by your lover's voice is a wonderful thing.
She just wanted to hear my voice, and I could think of nothing better. We talked of our days, or suggestions for the weekend, the hopes of near and far future, and I was told that once I 'settle down', we must get some cats. 2 if we can manage it.
We.
I rather like the sound of we.
I asked her if she had anywhere she would prefer to see me settle. She told me anywhere I could be successful. But she talks so passionately of her love for her neighborhood...a place to perhaps set a goal for.
Then, I fell back to sleep after we said our goodbyes, and dreamed.
This was probably one of the most lucid dreams I've had in a long time.
I had a new place. I don't know if it was an apartment, or some form of dormitory. Could have been either. I want to say apartment, tho.
It must have been in Chicago, because I woke up way too early, and Lisa was going to meet me for breakfast, but it wouldn't be for several hours.
I went downstairs and just started walking along the streets. I passed what I think was a library, and recognized people LARPing there from Origins and a few other cons.
I kept walking. I found a comic shop, a toy store, and some kind of sci-fi memorabilia store. That one was opened, so I wandered into it, and decided to come back later with more money to get something.
I kept walking, then noticed the time and turned back around. Somehow I got going a different way, though, because I got onto an incomplete building. I walked around on temp floors and steel beams, but couldn't find an easy way down.
I saw Lisa down there, waiting for me, with a group of people watching.
After I yelled down, some workers came up and helped me to ground, and I hugged her tight. Then I noticed a group of people in SCA garb, so we went over to say Hello.
Squire Alex was there. Except he'd been Knighted. I congratulated him and smiled.
Then Lisa and I went to go get breakfast...but instead we went back to my place. I will say nothing of what happened past that, save that the dream was lucid enough that the sensations I dreamed were more than real enough.
I'm surprised it's taken me so long to have a dream like this about her.
Perhaps I have before, and I simply only remembered it now.
